Chanel Earrings - Iconic Must Haves For Your Jewellery Collection

Since I make jewellery, I never really experimented with the whole Chanel Logo Studs.

In saying that, I did think about obtaining a plain pair of CC Studs to go along with the drop extensions in my collection.

Chanel make gorgeous pieces and I especially admire the blue crystal and pearl pieces.

Below are a few of my faves which are current on the website.

(Ox)Bloody Hell!

The colour Oxblood is one that I adore. Maybe it's because of my gothic past, or maybe it's because it's my favourite colour lipstick to wear right now. Whatever the reason, it's a colour that I am quite fond of and I think it suits a lot of people.

Here are some beautiful ways to wear this colour in various hues, and following are some items available in my store.

I Can’t Do ‘Casual’

15/1/2019

There’s something about dressing casual that I just can’t seem to manage.

Yes I have jeans and I own a t-shirt (it’s embroidered). I have sneakers (kinda) and I own tracksuit pants (for when I’m sick).
But dressing down is something I really can’t bring myself to do.

I have complied a list of my versions of the casual go-tos some people may have in their wardrobe.

I much prefer to wear these items over the others, that’s just my style.

The Denim Jacket
VS
The Classic Blazer

Picture
Most of us have one, I even had one. The Denim Jacket just sits too high on my casual list to feel like I could go out and conquer the day.
Picture
The Classic Blazer on the other hand speaks to me in ways that scream, “You’ve got this!”
Being so versatile, you could enjoy this baby at work or on the weekends.

The Biker Jacket
VS
The Belted Coat

Picture
A leather Biker Jacket is something I once longed for. I had one, I gave it away. Or sold it. I can’t remember.
When I used to wear all black everything & tried desperately to find anything with studs or spikes on it, the leather Biker Jacket combined the right amount of edge for me previous style demon.
Picture
I now swap out the need for studs and spikes with the use of a metallic buckle wrapped around my waist on a black Coat. Let’s face it, I would not be able to wear my pearls with my leather Biker Jacket & feel ‘put together’.
Still honouring the black coloured outerwear, yet keeping things versatile, edgy yet still given the opportunity to be a bit more polished.

Black Jeans
VS
Black Trousers

Picture
The very first pair of black jeans I purchased were the Lee Supa Tubes - $180 on layby until my job at Sanity helped me pay them off. I was 15.
Black jeans can look quite dressy on some people, I must admit. For me, they remind me of being at a concert & having beer spilt on me, standing up all day stacking DVDs at JB Hi-Fi & the good old mufti days at high school.
Picture
I no longer own a pair of black jeans. I have traded them in for a pair of black trousers which suit many occasions & in my opinion, are a bigger staple item than the above.
Chic and classic. My version of ‘jeans & a t-shirt’ would be black trousers and a silk top. An easy go-to & one outfit that I reach for often.

Tracksuit Pants
VS
Culottes

Picture
How comfy are trackies?! Yeah I still own some which don’t see the light of day unless I’m sick and it’s winter.
No judging here, go nuts; wear your tracksuit pants to the shops or out to coffee. That’s a cute look, but it’s just not for me.
Picture
Instead, I wear my culottes out and about when I’m running errands. They’re super comfy and make me feel relaxed.
I wear these with leather heeled sandals and a black thick knit top like in the picture above.
Perfect for showing off your divine Jewellery, but not showing too much fuss.

Ankle Boots
VS
Heeled Ankle Boots

Picture
Yeah, yeah, I know. These have a heel. But most ankle boots do.
There’s something I just can’t gravitate to with ankle boots. Perhaps it’s the length, material or colour. I don’t get how to wear them & I feel so frumpy when I try them on.
Picture
Do not fear, I have my own version of ankle boots. Heeled Ankle Boots are a winner for me. They have to be plain and slick, black, a pointed toe and a thin stiletto heel.
I feel like these look sophisticated and fierce.
I wear mine with jeans (relax, I’m human), a midi pencil skirt or with dresses and stockings.

Styling a Patterned Pencil Skirt

3/1/2019

This year, I promised myself that I would start working on obtaining more classic pieces in my wardrobe, with a neutral colour palette, making an exception for maroon and dark green.

Yes, I bought a patterned skirt. I actually bought it during the Boxing Day Sales at DFO.
I never really find myself waltzing into Hugo Boss, but they had an extra 50% off sale running that day & I couldn't refuse.

At first I tried on the size 32 which fit like a glove. Actually, it fit like a tight glove that would prove to be uncomfortable should I be eating. And lets be real, for those of you who know me, I love my food.
I was pleased to find the skirt was available in a size 34, so I grabbed it and tried it on too.
A much better fit around the thighs. The waist is a little loose but if I plan to wear this skirt to work, I don't want to feel strangled when I sit down.

The 34 it was. This skirt is the best length at sitting just on the knee. It has no slit at the back which I really like. I feel like the slit shows too much thigh at the back when you walk or climb stairs. What's nice about this is that I can actually still walk in my usual stride without being jolted back at the knees.

It is made from a Bouclé in a large floral print. Black and white in colour, this skirt did challenge my new wardrobe goals but I felt as though it looked quite subdued.

Wishlist 2019

Happy New Year, everyone!

New year, new goals. New wishlists.

Below are a few of my wishlist items for 2019.
I’m not striving for all of them (although that would be nice), just one or two.

Let’s kick this off with my Chanel goals.
Picture
Chanel Flap Bag with Top Handle.

Isn't she lovely? This beauty is the perfect ladylike tote.

Great for work, or just as a daily bag. With the chain strap, she can be worn three ways; handheld, as a shoulder bag, or crossbody.

I imagine wearing this bag with a pencil skirt and blouse for work, or with a cute lace dress and ballerina flats for day time.
Picture
Chanel Mini Flap Bag.

Because I don’t own a black bag.

This is the perfect size for running errands & transitions seamlessly from day to night.

This bag would literally go with every outfit, in every setting. Jeans and a tee, corporate pant suit & heels, a skirt and flats. Limitless opportunities.
Picture
Hermès Picotin Lock - any colour, any size.

My husband and I are flying to Tokyo this year & I aim to seek out a pre-loved Picotin Lock.

There’s a sense of playfulness to this bag with its unstructured form and soft leather. Add a Twilly or a bag charm to change the look of minimalist chic streetwear, to picnic in the park.
Picture
Hermès Garden Party - Any size, black or navy.

I have loved the simplistic style of this tote since late last year. It’s something that you can easily grab and go with minimal thinking. Being mainly black (or navy), it will go with the majority of my wardrobe and can act as an overnight bag too.

I imagine wearing this bag with black skinny leg trousers, a black tee & black sandals.

It’s still casual but can be dressed up with Twillies and bag charms also.
Picture
Louis Vuitton MM Agenda & Inserts.

This is something I’ve wanted for a few years now. Being a total planner nerd, it’s only fair that I can upsize my LV PM Agenda to the spacious MM size.

With loads more space to write in, this agenda and inserts will be perfect for that new office job.
