I often look at my home to find inspiration for my business and as you may already know, I am a collector of lovely things. My decor is far from magazine-worthy, but it all reminds me of times and places; it’s all special to me. I’m taking baby steps to introduce a rich feel into my home. Using large mirrors, decorative lamps and a mix of looks, I am slowly tweaking my interior decor to suit my personality and style. Keeping my husband in mind, I can’t go too girly or too extreme with a Chinoiserie look. He values the French Country style and that’s something I have chosen to keep to mix in with mine. Here are a few little areas I’ve been refreshing. This pink velvet side table is actually an ottoman. I simply adorned it with a placemat to make it function a side table. I am on the hunt for a round glass top to complete my look. What’s nice about this is that if I wanted to use an ottoman, I have one. Most of the time I stretch my legs out on the couch instead. Ottoman: Kmart Placemat: Kmart Lamp: A gift from my mum Brass Candle: TK Maxx Egg: Bed Bath & Table Adding blooms to my home makes me feel happy. I feel like my house is clean, fresh and smelling great when I buy flowers. This French Country style console table was purchased by my husband and I when we first bought our home. I adorn it with my precious things and a large mirror to dress the room. Crystal Swans: Prague Bohemia Crystal store, the other was given to me by my mother. Vase: Thrifted Kosta Boda Eggs: My Godmother, Ebay Clear Dish: Zara Home Wedgewood Dish: Thrifted Blue LSA Vase: David Jones Tall Crystal Dish: My Aunty Destiny Cards: Tree of Life Mirror: Fantastic Furniture I installed wallpaper panels in the spaces on the inside of my planner closet doors. This was super easy to do and adds a luxe feel to my favourite space. Wallpaper: Inspirations Paint Closet: IKEA Gold Dots: Kmart A recent purchase, but something that has been on my wishlist for 6 months. Floor length mirrors. I struggled seeing my whole outfit with only half mirrors. I purchased two full length mirrors to go behind my nightstands, which also elevate the eye in the room, helping to notice the tall ceiling and creating a bigger space. Mirrors: Fantastic Furniture Nightstands:Thrifted Lamps: Ebay Tallboy: IKEA Drawer Pulls: Ebay Round Mirror: TK Maxx Bedding: Sheridan, Target This is my favourite recent refresh.
I fell in love with this side table and contemplated buying it. The price point made my decision for me and I left without it the first time. I revisited the store weeks later and to much joy I noticed it had gone on sale. Two left. One, I had to have. I have storeage for my stock now which is a nice feeling. No more dresses hanging in the spare room. I treat this room as my studio and I figured I would need it to be an inspiring place to work in. Welcome to phase one of my studio update. This room will carry on a Chinoiserie theme which has got to be my favourite. Side Table: Pillow Talk Lamp: Thrifted Daybed: IKEA Duvet: Zara Home Pillows: Kmart, Adairs.
